Ok, so I'm.. borrowing my neighbor's WiFi, so let's see how well this works..

Project updates:
The Fetching armwarmers that I posted about last time got totally messed up when I did the thumb, and, even though the pattern said I would need only one skein, I certainly needed two. Argh. So I gave it up.

I knit a pair of armwarmers for myself in the meantime, but I don't have any photos of those, so you'll just have to imagine.

I've also been working on my first colorwork project ever! It's a pair of armwarmers for my cousin, for Christmas. I know that I have the photos on my computer, but I cannot, for the life of me, find them. I will post the pictures when I do locate them.

Basically, this post is to let you know that I'm still knitting. :3

New skill!

Yesterday at knitting, I learned a new skill.
I started making the Fetching armwarmers.
I bought brand-new needles for them, and I also learned how to cable!
So far I really like cabling. It's easier than it looks, like a lot of things in knitting.

I'm about 10% done with the first warmer, so we'll see how much I like cabling at the end of it.

I'll post some pictures ones I get a proper camera.

Edit: Remember what I said about pictures? Well, I haven't got a camera yet. But I do have a camera phone, so that'll have to do for now.

Stitch n' Pitch

Yesterday I went to a Twin's game with my knitting group. In total, it was me, Ginger, Kat, Amanda, and Emily, plus Ellie tagged along and knitted with us. I got a ticket with Joe Mauer on it. <3 He's my Twin's boyfriend, according to Kat.
Yesterday was the Stitch n' Pitch event, so you were supposed to bring your knitting to the game. I worked on my kitty-ear'd hat.

It was really fun, and I'm really looking forward to next year.

I feel like a bum for not posting since July..

I finished that scarf I was working (notable, not by "Next Tuesday"). I've also finished the Hannah Hat (the lovely blue one I was working on), and two Calorimetry's, one for me, and one for my good friend Laura. Hers is purple--mine is dark blueish. I don't even like blue that much. That just happens to be what I've used so far.

Currently I'm working on a "Floopy Hat" for my boyfriend, John. It's basically a Link hat. I'm really excited to make it! I've already had to start over three times. Once because I forgot to make sure it wasn't twisted before I joined it, once because I was on the wrong needle size, and once because I knit an entire row I was supposed to purl, and somehow got an extra stitch in there, and I had no idea where it came from.

Also, for anyone who cares, you can find me on Ravelry.com as "MuffinSquire."

Boooooooook

I mostly finished the blue hat I was on about in the last post--I just need to buy and attach buttons. I haven't got any money for buttons yet, though, so that'll have to wait. I also need to block it. How exactly does one block a hat? For that matter, how does one block in general?

Today, I bought my first knitting book. Stitch 'n Bitch, from Half-Priced books. I'm not sure if the title means "Stitch and Bitch," or "A Bitch who Stitches." Either way, it's got some really neat patterns, and lots of wonderful tutorials and things in the front of the book. I can now actually do the moss stitch. I'm making something with it, in fact.

As a side note, the song Foo Foo by Santana has a moment towards the end of the song where it sounds like it's going to start playing the "You found some cool shit!" song from the Zelda series.

Tuesday Knitting

So, yesterday I went to Tuesday knitting for the second time. I didn't get any tea this time, mostly because I'm cheap and only like chai. But, I got quite far on my scarf! And, more importantly, I learned how to do buttonholes! :D I'm so proud of myself.
I really love my soft blue yarn. It's very wonderful. And the ribbing is going very wonderfully.

My goal is to have my scarf finished by next Tuesday knitting.

Patterns

I'm becoming something of a pattern-whore. I love getting them, even if I don't really know how to read them. I like having them. Also, looking at the pictures. :3

Anyway. I've got a bunch of patterns that I don't like/will never use/whatever. I got them from a knitting page-a-day calender, and I've taken out the ones I like. It was for 2008, so it's not a current calender or anything.
If anyone wants them, just tell me so.

Newbie

O hai.
So, here it is. My knitting blog. Or what will soon become my knitting blog, at least. I'm a bit of a blog-whore. I've got my Mission 101 blog, my art blog, and my livejournal, which I can't seem to link to, but is at muffinsquire.livejournal.com, for normal life-type blogging.

Ciao!
